Lake Manatee State Park (N/NE/NW)

This is a great foiling location on any North wind (N/NE/NW). A north wind provides a cross reach option to allow you to maximize the 3 mile length of the Lake. Deep water everywhere. You can park and put in from the Boat Ramp area but you will need to tack a few times to get into the lake. I prefer to park in the Picnic/Pavilion area and wheel my equipment the hundred yards to the Kayak Launch area. (I have portable board wheels!)

This isn’t a beginners location. The current is strong and will push you towards the damn if you can’t control your equipment. Not an issue for experienced foilers.

This is a fresh water location (Manatee-Sarasota Reservoir). Yes there are Alligators in the lake just as there are Sharks in our salt water locations.

Fresh water and deep everywhere! Great little state park with bathrooms, outdoor showers, picnic areas, playground, etc.

I believe I might be the first person to foil on Lake Manatee!
